Administrative Assistant position at OAPEN & DOAB

Location: Hybrid (primarily remote, optional working from The Hague office)

About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Administrative Assistant to support our finance, HR, and administrative operations. You don’t need to be an expert in finance or HR — experience or familiarity with these areas is a plus. You’ll be part of a collaborative and growing administration team, working closely with the General Manager to enhance organisational efficiency.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Processing invoices, payments, and bookkeeping entries
  • Assisting with payroll and financial reporting
  • Maintaining HR and compliance records
  • Supporting audits and documentation
  • Managing expenses and project cost tracking
  • Providing general office support (e.g. mail handling, onboarding new team members)

What we are looking for

Education: Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, International Relations, or a related field.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills (English, written and verbal)
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in HR, finance, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in HR, bookkeeping, or project administration is an added advantage
  • Based in the Netherlands is a plus
