University of Oxford

As a non-for-profit library outlet, we publish a select choice of books and booklets related to Oxford holdings or to projects in the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages. Books are normally commissioned to complement a specific event such as an exhibition or a workshop with a writer-in-resident or a special anniversary. The first series, ‘Reformation Pamphlets’, charts the German Reformation from its beginnings in 1517, and aims to publish one pamphlet a year from the Taylor Institution holdings, linked to a quincentenary. Each of the volumes is meant for academic teaching and comprises introductory chapters alongside new editions, new translations with linguistic commentary, and a facsimile of the Oxford copies. The second series, ‘Writers in Residence’, publishes texts arising out of collaborations, workshops, and student projects. The third series, ‘Cultural Memory’, consists mainly of catalogues for exhibitions held at the Taylor Institution Library with introductory essays.

The series editor is responsible for the initial commission and for sending the different elements of each book, such as the introductory essays or the translations, to peer reviewers from the field. They then also collate the feed-back from the peer reviews, send it to the authors, and ensure that it is actioned. The revised final submission is scrutinized by the editorial board and needs to be approved.

Editorial Board: Dr Andrew Dunning (Bodleian Library), Emma Huber (Taylor Institution Library), Dr Howard Jones (Faculty of Linguistics), Prof. Henrike Lähnemann (Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages) who is also the series editor.
